Turbinaria reniformis ?
anyone have one of these its yellow (took the pic under the antics)

I got it last wed.so been in the tank about a week

I got it up high on the rocks under 2x 250 hqi mh and 2 54w antics, the guy i got it from had it under a few 400 wt. mhs

The spot its in now gets strong flow,i was thinking since its a cup type coral that good strong flow would be good to keep detribis
from accumulating on the coral

thing is only a couple of polyps have come out since i got it,and the ones that have came out seem to be the ones in the center of the coral like a little canyon, were the coral receives less flow,
so im thinking maybe flow is to strong ,

its only been a week since its been in the tank

all parameters are great ,there are some sps, lps, softies, shrooms, zoas, clams in the tank and all is good

anyone have experience as what these corals like, the couple polyps i have seen look real cool,

thanks and sorry for the crappy pic

I got a small frag of this a little over a year ago. It grows slowly but steadily and has probably doubled in size in the last year. I have it off to the side of a 250w 14k Phoenix bulb and it gets med-strong water flow. I also discovered that it can eat quite a bit of cyclop-eeze. You can see the red color inside the polyps afterwards.

Here it is about a year ago.

thanks

thanks

so you got it in a high flow area too, after i posted last night i went down to the tank about 2 a.m
and did notice a few polyps were extended,it just doesn't open during the day ,its got the same color as when i introduced and otherwise it looks healthy, thanks

I've got one myself. That should be excellent for a turbinaria. Mine is in my tank, which is under a lot of flow as well. Mine is under 4 VHO lights and I have found that it takes to frozen cyclopeaze. Given the right conditions I have found it to be a very hardy coral.

thanks

thanks

I guess it was just getting acclimated ,during the day today i noticed more polyp extension ,thanks for the replies
