Turboflotor depth

Hi all,

Sump revisions.

I'm installing a new-to-me TF1000 in my sump. The water depth in that chamber is ~15". Should I set it on the bottom or raise it up a few inches on a platform for best results?

Thanks,

Dan

Do you have the Turboflotor 1000 or the Turboflotor 1000 Multi?
Is 15" correct? Wouldn't 15" put it underwater?
I had the "older" Turboflotor 1000 a while back. The instructions require the water level be between 10cm - 15 cm. Roughly between 4" - 6".

I think you're going to have to raise the skimmer. The instructions say the water level should be just below the skimmer body with the pump off.

Thanks for that instructions link.

It is the classic and not the multi. At 15" the water level is about at the top of the skimmer body. I can raise it about 5", but not much more than that. 4-6" of water in a sump is awfully shallow.

I believe they are saying the level inside the skimmer should be to just below the top of the skimmer body..

I didn't see anything that talked about water levels outside the skimmer. I do think you would want enough to keep the pump covered though.

What I got was the horizontal output tubes in the top of the skimmer should be 3/4 full with water flowing through the skimmer body and the recirculation pump turned off.

need help with my multi sl if anybody's willing, sorry to but in on your thread, if you want me to start my own just say. Cant get the foam right at all, regardless of skimmer depth, motor depth, valve adjustments, length and width of tubing, tried everything but wont stop overfilling the cup!
