two tanks on one sump??

I would like to add a nano tank to the main tank's sump. I think I have the plumbing figured out--hopefully. Has anyone tried this?? Please advise. R

you'll just need some kind of overflow on the nano...you could use a small bulkhead or a down tube. It would be kind of like hooking up a small fuge

Think of it as an annex. When tank A sneezes, tank B will do the same, but it's no different in most regards than having one big tank...with the benefits of keeping certain specimens apart. I wonder that more people with fish diplomacy problems don't resort to it.

One sump:

Show tank
Frag tank
Frag/fuge tank

So, yes - very possible & many people do this

I use the drain from my main tank to partially feed the other 2 tanks. No sense in having another pump if you don't need it
