Type of Algae in Fuge

I use chaetomorpha -- probably not as good as most caulerpa on nitrates, but probably better on phosphates. Definitely lower risk and lower maintenance.

Mangroves are supposed to be good, but it's the roots that filter and they usually only sell the buds. It takes a while for the roots to form if they survive. So for immediate, I would use chaeto. You can always put mangroves in and wait for them to root. Microalgae will grow on its own.

IMO you need a varaiety of algaes. What I use is mostly cheato. But I also have gracilia, halmedia, and a couple unkown macros that grew from live rock. Mangroves and Calurpa are the only algaes I specificly don't want to keep.

Anyt reasons you would not SPECIFICLY keep these. Just wondering if it is just opinion or any reason to it.
