I'm pretty dissapointed with my first shoot I did for someone today in terms of corals. Please help me critique!

I think this is just too dark and backlit for one =P

Too blurry, no real center focal point

Not enough light on the side I wanted... but what could I do?

One of the better shots, though it's one out of 200 shots I tried to take of the sohal

The photos look nice. What you might do is if you can set your camera's white balance temperature, set it at your light's temperature. My camera only goes to 10k, and my lights are 20k, but it comes out about right.

For more light where you want it, get an off camera flash, and stick it against the glass in the area you would like it.

Shadows/highlights in PS CS2 can fix many ills on lighting. It won't save truly blown highlights, but it can help raise exposure without further blowing them.

But honestly, I think they look nice. Being critical is the easiest way to improve though :)

what type of camera are you using? creative lighting techniques is probably one of the most advanced topics you can get into when discussing photography (and reef photography espically).

I rapped with GHO about it a while ago, and he uses multiple off camera strobes to get some of his incredible shots. Definitely something i want to give a try in the future.
