I have a few of these snails in my tank (20L +20L sump, about 4 months old)
Sorry for the crappy photo editing job, I dont have access to decent software at the moment.
Anyway, i have maybe 4 of these snails of various sizes in my tank right now. This one is the biggest being maybe 1/2 inch long. The shell is long and pointy (think needle, not pyramid) and is black and white speckled as seen in the pic. Im told by others that it looks like a sundial snail aside from its shell shape, if that helps any with getting an ID.
Anyway, i have been plucking them from my main and tossing them in the sump for now in case they are not reef safe. I have not noticed any devious behavior, but better safe than sorry.
Any have any info on this critter? Are they reef safe? Should I bother plucking them? Thanks!
