unsure but thinking about mantis

hey guys, im about to get a small tank for free and im debating over what to do with it. seeing as how i already have a reef, i was giving some thought to turning it into a mantis tank. my problem is well, i know very little about mantis shrimp, i have learned some info from searching but theres still much to learn. does the mantis spend most of its time hiding? is it possible to keep the tank looking clean? does anyone have some full tank shots of a mantis species tank? thx
