Upcoming Frag Swap, what to expect?

I have never been to a frag swap of any kind and may be interested in going to this one. Before I commit to make the trip I just want to know what kind of things are offered. I wont have much or anything to trade and being a broke college student I wont have alot of cash either.

I just wanted to know if some frags go fairly cheap, I am really interested in anything I dont have which isnt much. Maybe planning on spending $100 total. I just want to gauge what types of things will be available and if what I come home with will be worth the trip.

Thanks,

Maybe I will see and meet some of you if I decide to go.

Yes it is worth the trip. I spent about $60 at the first swap I went to in Columbus a few years ago. Came home with 5 coral frags, some of them bigger than a frag. Only other coral at the time I had purchased was Xenia at a Jacks for $35. Some frags are as little as $5. Most $10-20 for average mushrooms, LPS, and soft corals. Bring a cooler to keep them in. There will be one in Columbus in the fall.

I agree, $100 will go pretty far at a frag swap. There are always a multitude of $5 to $10 frags. It's also just plain fun...

These are very much worth the trip. There are not too many other events that will draw 200+ reef keepers together in one place. It is very much like a coral flea market, lots of fun.

CSEA always has a killer raffle as well ;)

coral flea market lmao. any investors out there! lol.
yeah its deffinently worth the trip. you can stretch your money pretty far there and youll get to meet alot of reefers in your area. tons of fun and is worth experiencing at least once.

Matt,

It is well worth the drive to just see how many crazy fish geeks there really are out there. Here is a link that can give some idea of what is available http://www.fragswapper.com There will be tons more of items that are not on the board. Some folks just don't have the time to post them.

worth it even if you come home empty handed (which I doubt) it's a good way to add to your tank without a lot of $$.
besides that most everything is tank grown as that is the point of the swap

My problem isn't finding frags to buy, its cutting myself off.

I may have to just bring cash and leave my ATM card at home.

Fortunately (or unfortunately depending on how you look at it) I only live 20 minutes away ir I REALLY need it.

Thanks so much for all that posted, I think I am going to have to come see it, I will have to make sure I clear out my plans. Thanks for all that posted.
