Upgrading current LEDs to Ecotech or Kessil

Hello. I have a 92 gallon corner bow-front aquarium. My current LEDs are Reef Koi Evolution 200w 3G [20k]. I like them and the only reason I want to replace them is because they aren't dimmable.

Do you think one Ecotech Radion XR30w is enough to cover my tank?

i was also considering 2 Kessil Aw360 units.

Any ideas?

Tough choice, the Radion would definitely be plenty. The Kessils are the king of shimmer, but can't hold a light to Radions for PAR rating. If you want simple, the Kessils. You really can't go wrong with either.

If I had to choose, and I just did, the Radion Pro.

I too have a 92 corner aquarium, I went with a full spectrum d120 in the center, a kessil a150 on the left, and a 13 led diy set-up to the right. I'm sure its a bit over kill but it works for me. I think a radion unit would cover the area but you would have to place corals accordingly. I need my 3 lights given that I aquascaped for my dual halide t5 setup when the tank was first started. Hope that helps.

A Radion would be okay, but you would have to place SPS at the very top. Maxima clams would probably be a bad idea.
Two would cover SPS everywhere.

i too have a corner bowfront and love and hate how unique the lighting situation is.
I'm going Kessil just because of the ease of mounting and coverage agrea. i think with two you would really be nice. love to see updates ocne you decide.

Radions are too expensive for me.

A Radion has 34 leds in it, 8 of which are greens/yellows and so can be discounted. That's essentially 26 leds to lights a 92 gallon tank.
I would use at least 2 Radions if you go that route and want SPS. Otherwise, 2-3 Reef Breeders Value fixtures would do it. If you want the control, the Maxspect Razors, Radions, GHL Mitrases, or a Reef Breeders Photon would be good.

For most mixed reef aquariums, I personally think that one (1) Radion Pro would work well on your 92G corner, proving you center it about 8-10" over the aquarium. Good luck!

Seems like it won't be enough for SPS. the Pro only has 40 leds or so IIRC, and a 92 gallon tank is pretty big. 2 might work better.

a 92 corner is 4 feet across the front.... no way one unit would be enough in my opinion. unless you have it 3 feet off the water.....

if all he is growing is LPS and softies, one Kessil 350w would be the widest spread and cheapest price..

I would put two just to cut down on the dark spots in the middle, but keep the shimmer, and easy mounting on the unique shape.

As the OP stated he's not keeping SPS and even if he was he could place them near the top center and work down and out for the lps and softies with shrooms/polyps near the edges where they will do fine.

Ecotech just posted stating it will work for what he wants to keep so why keep disagreeing?

I have a 92 corner and a photon 16 works fine for softies and LPs, I would think a radion pro would work fine too. my light is about 18 inches off the surface.

radions are more programmable witch iv found is a plus and a minus it is nice because you can design your lights around your coral it is a minus because it is time consuming and well they don't always do what they are told I also like the kessle but they are probably not right for your tank they are really focused light with a lack of spread that can be irritating at times. but they are both good lights at the end of the day so good luck
