Upgrading lights?

Hi everyone,
I'm upgrading my lights and wanted to see what you thought about these for clams. My aquarium is a 92 gal corner. It is about 22-23 inches deep. I am having a hood built because it is an odd shape, the front is bowed as well. We plan to install a 250w MH and 1 96w PC (it was going to be 2 actinics, but only 1 would fit). There will also be a fan for cooling and integrated timer in the ballast.

So what do you think about keeping clams or SPS under these?

Thanks, Lee

Don't know the L or W but it is said that 1 MH will cover 24". As far as the depth, the 250 w/PC will be fine with clams and SPS , IME

Thanks Ron,
As far as the L and W go, I haven't actually measured it. My current 36" PC just does fit across the opening now so I would guess it's about 41-42 inches at the widest point. Since it is basically a triangle shape, the distance from side to side is quickly diminished. From front to back are roughly the same distance at (41-42) to the furthest point, but then the overflow of course takes up part of this and that's where I started my rock. I'm thinking maybe some of my low light animals can be moved back there depending on how the light falls when I get it together.

Maybe I'll just take some pictures tonight and post with the way my current rocks are arranged, though I have a nasty looking brown algae bloom going on right now:eek1:

There are some pics in my member photos, not very good, if you care to look. I also have added a little more rock since those were taken.

Thanks again!

Sounds very good. Just put clams and SPS under the bulb, and not too the side. PAR drops significantly as you move away from directly under a bulb.
