Using flexible ball socket tubing

So I want to use some of this tubing for multiple returns. here's a link of what I plan to use.

I'm using 3/4 PVC. How does the tubing attach to the PVC? I'm thinking that the MPT Connector (item "e") must be used? Are the assemply pliers needed?

You are correct about the fitting, but I don't think you really need the pliers.
