UV in FO/FOWLR

hey guys im gonna get a UV sterilizer (Current Gamma 8 watt) for my 80 gallon fowlr. just wanted to hear from people who use UV sterilizers and have seen a difference. once again the search function didnt work.

I run a 40W in my 300g. I run around 350-400g through the UV. I go with a slow flow rate to help kill parasites. If you are adding one for algae control the flow rate can be higher. It has worked well in my tank. But when I added Ozone to the tank I noticed even more of a difference. Water is very clear to the point it looks like the fish are floating in mid air.

Personally i would get a bigger unit for a 80 gallon. I dont think watts will even do much. Mayeb a 15 or even a 25 watt. I have a 40 watt Gamma on my 125 gallon and its the sh*t. Water is VERY clear and all my ich problems disapeared. I have a Hagen Aquaclear 50 running it thats held back a little by a ball valve, so i think its maybe working with 200-230 gph? I definitely did not want to put the reccommended flow through it. Its very high, over 2000 gph, but how is it supposed to kill parasites with that much flow???? I have had no problems running it with that low of flow.
ANyways i had a 9 watt before but it didnt help water conditions much so i decided to get a big one.
