Vertex puratek 100gpd rodi

Hey so I ordered a new 100gpd dow membrane, two .5 carbon blocks, a sediment filter, and some color changing di resin, oh yea and a hm triple tds meter. Installed it and let it run for about a hour disconnecting the line that goes from the membrane to the di, now put it all back how it is supposed to go and its producing 0 tds rodi. I'm pretty happy the way it's making water now. Tds going in is 307 and coming out the membrane is 14 ppm, thinking about maybe getting another sediment container and another di resin just so it could be more efficient. Let's see how much water I can make before it goes to 1ppm.

Nice job getting it down to 0. Only thing I would suggest, is next time, look into replacing your membrane with a tested spectrapure one. Right now, with 307 coming in, and 14 going out, you're getting roughly between a 95% and 96% rejection rate. Which isn't bad, but the tested spectrapure ones are typically 99%+. I'm running my system with roughly 400-500 incoming tds, and getting 4 to 5 tds post membrane, and that's running a system that recirculates, achieving a 1:1 ratio. The lower you can get your tds post membrane, the longer your di resin will last. Adding an extra sediment filter will most likely only lower your water psi to the membrane, which, you could always adjust your booster pump to compensate, but what are you gaining with a second sediment stage...

Adding another sediment filter will do nothing to bring down TDS. It is only there to protect the membrane. The membrane is the workhorse to bring down the TDS and then the DI resin is there to polish off the rest of the TDS. 14 coming out of a brand new membrane isn't bad. You should see it come down as the membrane breaks in.

Yea I thought about buying that membrane instead of the one I got but didnt know if they had a 100gpd one. I guess I wont be adding another sediment filter, maybe just another di resin.
