Vibrant aquarium cleaner?

Do a search. There are massive threads. Me, I'd be hesitant. Consensus on massive cyano from what I have read.

It has gotten mixed reviews, which isn't surprising. Giving it a try seems reasonable, but I'm not sure I could recommend it. I doubt it'll do much harm if dosed carefully, and stopped if any problems show up.

As said there are some big threads about it.

I decided to give it a shot. I dosed it twice a week for 6 weeks. It did not get rid of the GHA or Byrposis I had in my tank, matter of fact, it didnt even look like it touched it. It also did cause some very minor Cyano. Now what it did do, was make my water clearer. That was nice, and since I have not noticed any progress on the GHA, Im dosing it once every two weeks now.

Hmm. Well, I was hoping it'd get rid of some of my algae, but it seems that won't be its strength. Glad I checked (although I guess I could have just done a search -- this was just the first place I though to check, seeing as it's full of friendly, knowledgeable reefkeepers:)), that's twenty bucks I can spend on something more helpful.

Much obliged, guys! Thanks!

I gave it a try and it did nothing for the bit of algae in my shallow reef tank. I'm not impressed at all. Just my 2 cents worth.

It knocked out a lot of the GHA I had. For Jason, who has a big thread on this forum, it didn't touch his GHA. I also had some weird brown stuff that is 100% eliminated. I know it isn't a permanent solution, but it got me ahead in the game to allow my algae reactor and urchin to now manage what is popping up now. I saw no issues with any of my corals while using it as well. Based on my personal experience, I think its an excellent product.

What does Vibrant look and smell like? Just received a bottle... when I opened it the seal was detached and loose. The liquid in the bottle was clear and had no odor. Does this sound right?

Not doing much for me either but I'm going to ride it through and see

I just took a smell test: Nothing. :) (And it is colorless)

I started dosing about 2-3 months ago.
Tank was then roughly 4-5 months old and had dinos. (+ some hair algae, but I did not really fear that part) After dosing, the tank gradually cleared and today I have no dinos, and almost no visible algae.
Also, the water clarity has improved a lot after dosing.

Tank is young, so maybe this was just part of the normal start-up phase and the outcome would have been the same without Vibrant. I don't know. I have continued dosing the "maintenance amount" just for the water clarity. Will probably do so until I run out of Vibrant.

I'm a believer, I started using it and dino's are gone for now! Nothing else I tried for 15 months phased them. If they come back tomorrow I'm still happy for the last 3 weeks I've actually enjoyed my tank!

I have been using it for 3 weeks exactly according to the instructions
and it *might* be clearing my water a bit..but that could be the skimmer
too....not sure..but so far I am NOT impressed ...I was expecting the
clean reef look that it states..I am still getting a bit of unwanted algae here
and there in very small amounts but I expected this stuff to rid the small amounts I am getting...notta....

I dont think I will re-purchase...but we will see...only been 3 weeks..not a long time really and the dosage is seemingly low so....

but the bottle says clears water as fast as something like 12 hours...
did not really notice a diff that I can say is definitely this stuff... lol

I used it. Out of the gate had some good success. Glass was cleaner. knocked out some bubble algae and cotton candy algae that I had. Did not touch the Ulva or the Bryopsis.

I've used it in all three of my tanks with mixed results. My 90 was the worst with both GHA and bryopsis as well as some bubble algae. It killed the hair and bryopsis pretty quickly, and seems to slowly be killings the bubble algae. I also had some grape caulerpa that wasn't phased at all.

It killed bubble algae in my 40, but led to a little cyano ( green instead of the normal red). No effect on red wire algae.

No effect on the GHA or bubble algae in my 65.

A total mixed bag of results.
