Hi Guys, I posted this in the MAAST forum and got no replies. I know its a long ways from where you all are located, but any info is appreciated:)

I will be visiting the end of the month and was wondering about good LFS or other places with tanks to visit. My wife will be in a class for 2 days so I'll have time with my little girl to visit some stores and attractions.
Any insider tips on good eats and things to see would be great too!
I have a travel guide with lots to see in there so most of the touristy stuff is covered
Thanks All!
Chris

I was there last May. I can't tell you about any LFS, as I was there for a dental conference and didn't have that much free time, but I can give you a couple of good restaurants on the Riverwalk. Las Canarias at the Omni Mansion Del Rio hotel- their sunday brunch is excellent- you NEED RESERVATIONS for the brunch, other times maybe not. Also, Pesca across the river at the Watermark Hotel. There was a decent BBQ joint along the riverwalk that was pretty good, too.

I might be going back in a year or so- I'll have to keep an eye on this thread, lol!!

The zoo is great, the Riverwalk and Alamo are also kinda must sees. If you just have a few days there, SeaWorld is also pretty cool as is Six Flags. As for food...if you like tex/mex there are a TON of places that are great. But be careful of some of the street vendors (downtown)...they usually have some of the best food, but if you are not used to it your stomach will hate you for days ;)

Thanks Guys! We'll check those out. Is Sea world worth the $50 admission? I'll have my 6Yo daughter all day while my wife is in a conference.

It is the largest of the three parks (most of it is for research) and the behind the scenes tour is worth going to...but then again, I am a bit bias as I used to work there ages ago :)

Thanks for the replies.
We had a great time at the Zoo, riverwalk, museums, Alamo, and downtown. Great food and people too.
I liked that many of the large attractions were built in old rock quarries. The one that is still running is quite a sight from the airplane!!!
Thanks all!
Chris
