Vortec and painted back ?

How hard is it to line up the the vortec when the back of your tank is painted? Is this even doable or will I have to scrape the paint off?

thats gonna be a tough one. your probably going to have to do trial and error until you get it perfectly quiet.

I use mine on mhy back and it is painted. Wasn't hard to align.

if you want to be anal you can use a ruler and be exact

Should be pretty easy. Slide it around till they stick together then start it up and move one of the sides around a bit till its quite.

I have 3 on the back of mine. You align by sound and feel. You dont need to see through the glass.

I stuck the cord keepers the top edge of the rim of my 175. I turn it off pluck it off, clean in and then put it back in the circle where there is no coraline and then turn it back on. The motors don't move this way.

Once you move side to side and up and down you can feel center pretty good:thumbsup:

I've had my two MP40's on the back of my painted 75 and never had a problem. Once they stick together, you align just like on the clear glass, by sound.

Thanks, would have hated to spend the money and then find out they were a pita to line up.

it's hard to align it even if the tank is clear, the glass/water distort the image a lot.
