wanted: your dead clam shells!

In addition to reefs, i'm into shell collecting, and today was thinking about all of the clam shells that get thrown away when our clams die.

In addition to myself i have had another request for these dead shells.

Specimens raised in aquariums may be particularly desirable, because many of the parasitic worms and growths that damage the shells in the wild are not present. Normally, wild shells above 6" or so are in poor condition, but aquarium-raised shells will be nearly flawless.

what I am looking for:

any dead tridanca clam shell, in good condition (not chipped, scales intact, etc.)

shells without strong growth rings and irregular growth due to unstable aquarium conditions.

shells above 5" are particularly desirable.

the dead shells are fairly easy to clean (once you get past the smell). The animal is only attached in two places and can easily be scraped out.

If you have any clams that have died and are willing to clean the shells, i'll pay for shipping.

Thanks!
