Hello all,

I'm having some problems in my reef with Coraline Algae. Don't know why but it starts to dead.
My Kh is at 4Ã"šÃ‚º and Ca at 400ppm.

I would like to increase and stabilize the KH and Ca values.

I'm thinking on the Warner Marine product (CalxMax 2 pt Calcium / Alkalinity Buffer) but my local retailer told me not to use it with Kalk addition. Why is that?
I was reading product description at Warner Marine website (http://www.warnermarine.com/calxmax.htm) and they don't talk anything about not to use this product with addition of kalk.

Would like to hear some opinions please.

Thanks.
Bruno

Welcome to Reef Central and the Reef Chemistry Forum. :)

You cannot mix it into limewater (kalkwasser), but it is perfectly fine to use it at the same time as limewater. Many folks do that with two part additives if limewater alone is not adequate.

You can also make your own two part system if cost is a concern:
