water depth for an ASM G2 Skimmer?

I don't have much room in my sump and I need to know what is the average water depth for an ASM g2 Skimmer?

That is assumeing the a g2 is better than a g1 even though I only have a 55gal?

6"- 8" is what you should shoot for.

I have mine setting in about 12 inches of water, and it has a good output, but at one time i had it in 7 inches of water, and it was better. Shoot for the 6 - 8 inches. Most imporant though, it must be consistant!!

Get an ASM mini... I have one on my 58g cube, and it has been working beautifully....I would have to meaure the footprint, as I don't remember, but it has worked for my little sump...I am thinking it will fit...I run mine in about 6" of water.....
