Water for the Q-tank

In preparing your Q-tank do you fill it with water from the display tank OR the newly mixed? Your expert advices are welcome.

To me, depends on the quality of the water coming from your display. If it is in good shape, not extremely dirty or anything, then water from your display is, to me, the best thing for acclimating your new fish in QT to your display tank atmosphere.
