Water level raised??

i just noticed the water level in my tank is higher than usual, it is to the very top of the slits in my overflows, what could be causing this?

something blocking some of the slits or increase in flow

I agree with mbbuna, could something be blocking the down pipe causing the water level to raise behind the overflow???

I know that when I turn my skimmer off, the water level raises...

i just looked and the slits on my overflows were getting blocked up with hair algae. scrubbed em down and fixed the problem. thanx for your replies guys
