we buy junk cars(text)

Osteo, forget ambush marketing, how about just ambush... A bunch of us wait outside the guys house, and when he comes out, we hold him down, shave his head, and stamp all the local fish stores' logos on his head in indellable ink!

I texted back "remove me now, or suffer the consequences." No more texts.

The one I get now is from someone claiming to be walmart or best buy with a free gift card. Shishing site, don't click on it.

They refuse to identify who they are or even if they are a legally operating biz.
I'd like to have em come where I am just to get the lic plate and see of the truck says anything

I like the ambush idea. I started keeping the text to see if I get the text from the same number every month and it's coming from 4 different numbers.

today

we buy junk cars
305-824-7923
the number sending it is 305-744-6936
lets see how many different numbers they got, this shtuff is getting old

My wife and I get them. We were with tmobile. Recently switched to att.

I think someone should do the ambush idea like ludwigia suggested. But nothing rash or physical. Give them a legit address (not your own of course). And then when they show up take photos of the person that shows up as well as the vehicle or tow truck and plates. Send to the authorities or local news station. I saw this story on the news recently. I think it was either on channel 7 FOX or 6 NBC so im thinking people are starting to investigate.

Guys, just to be clear... if this guy really is a piece of trash, he's probably paying a legitimate towing company to do his hauling. If anyone takes any action, just remember the guy that shows up may just be a second party that doesn't know any better. I'm sent to jobsites quite often at the request of one party, only to have the guy rip into me about the company that sent me there. My company is very large, very legit, and 100% customer service and satisfaction. The rats that sometimes hire us are not.

You guys are looking at things all the wrong way.......its not about the guy sending the text......its the people responding to the text keeping him in business and selling him their junk cars from his solicitation .....if his marketing tactics didn't work he wouldn't be using them.......if it doesnt work they dont do it.......put pressure on the people that are using the service and you stop the service.....Come on guys I thought we were smarter than this.....

mrx I don't see anything wrong with shining a light on the scumbag tactics of a scumbag marketer. I am as libertarian as the next guy, but preferring a market solution does not in any way preclude public disclosure, criticism, and ridicule of a d-bag. I though you were smarter than that, heh.

We have no issue with his method we have an issue with him not allowin removal from his list. And him not disclosing the company name. ( does he have occupational lic?) don't know he won't say company name.

Plus his violation of FCC laws

your still the one on the outside looking in .....and wasting time complaining about the wrong angle its not the people and the methods they use that keep them in business its the people selling the products or using their services ......you will never stop a method as long as its working and since he has been in business for a while now it must be working ......so whos the dog and whos the tail.......

I agree with ATTR. I dont think we are looking at it "the wrong way". I dont have a problem with someone emailing me an offer or even an unsolicited text once in a while. However, every reputable marketer that uses those tactics give you a way to unsubscribe. The problem here is the fact that there is no way to unsubscribe and multiple people have even called only to get cursed out. There are many people that use this type of marketing and theres nothing wrong with it necessarily, however when theres no way to remove your name from the list that's where the problem arises.

I don't care if people respond to his texts and they do have a junk car they want to sell, that's their business. I don't need to put pressure on anyone to stop using his service, esp if the can benefit from his services. I however cannot use his services and don't want to so stop sending me texts. Give me a way to un subscribe. Noone here is trying to shut his business down cuz we feel like it, we just don't want his services so stop offering it to us forcefully. Offer your services the right way and to who wants them.
