i am hearing prices of $2m or so for the bugatti veyron. too rich for my blood! and here i thought ferrari enzo's were overpriced!!!

though i will say that $2m wont even get you close to a nice golden period strad!!! my all time favorite is the 1718 firebird strad which i read went for $7.2m. makes the bugatti a total bargain now, doesnt it? :D:D:D

lol.. just take a look at my avatar if you want to see a hot ride....

Amen to that :D

I would take the Ferrari over that overweight beast. Going fast in a straight line is cool, but i doubt that behemoth would do to well in the twisties.

i wonder if anyone would strap two mercedes benz amg v12's together.

that would make it a quad turbo 24 cylinder monster with 1208 horses! but that is just ludicrous...it would be like someone going for over 10,000 posts!!!;););)

Oh, you were talking about the CAR. :D

Porsche GT for me... or a Tesla.

the veyron really can do 253 MPH like it claims. Top gear did a video on it, but there is a new king coming on the market. the SSC Aero, it has been tested in Nevada at 256MPH :)

Another high quality Volkswagen product.
Boy what a slap in the face to Porshe since they on 30% of VW.

Edit: 31%

OK so you got a 1.4 mil fast little VW. But I can't seem to find anything anywhere on how it handles. Is that all it can do is go fast in a straight line? Plus where do you plan on driving that thing that fast? As for looks, it's ugly to me. The front nose is just plain butt ugly.

Now if you want someting for say around 60G's that can out run a enzo or Saleen S7, and you can build it at home using a C5 ZO6 corvette for parts, try looking at the new Factory Five Racing GTM. Sleek supercar body, uses C5 suspension parts, ZO6 LS7 motor and Porsche transaxle. It can be built by you for 60G's and will out run and handle supercars costing 10 times as much.

0-60 3 sec.
1/4 mile 11.0 @ 132mph
Skid pad 1.05G
weight 2496 lbs
Cost to build $58,658.

Lateral Acceleration is 0.96 g avg. That is the same as the Ferrari Enzo. That's pretty good for a 4500 lb vehicle. I might give the edge to the Bugatti though as it is AWD (the source of much of it's weight) which makes it easier to drive than the RWD Ferrari. Let's not forget that getting to 200 mph on the freeway is realistic in this vehicle. Personally I would just be happy with an aluminum bodied replica of a 67 Shelby Cobra. With today's technology, a car like that would just be dangerous!

What I also would really like to see is Audi build a TDI powered R8. Maybe call it the R10? Now that would be a beast but I doubt it would ever happen. But then again who ever though a diesel car would win LeMans?

Why spend that kind of money on a car that can do 200+ when you can spend $10 to make your car sound like its going 200+ at a stop sign. : D

Greg, check out the Factory Five site. ;)

I'm working on getting one of their Cobra replica kits. It's not alunimum but it still looks great and they are the top seller of do it yourself kits.

If you just want to buy one, look at Superformance. They run about 40K plus the cost of a motor and tranny. They are the best but even though it's sold as a kit car, it's a complete package minus drivetrain from South Africa. Interesting story on how he got into bussiness.

As for the Enzo

As tested by C&D
0-60 3.3 sec
1/4 mile 11.2 @ 136
Skid pad 1.05G
