What 175 MH bulbs run on mag. ballast

What brand 175 watt bulbs are you folks running on a standard magnetic ballast? I am running hamilton 10,000 K true germans and thinking about trying something else, what bulbs would you guys recommend for a magnetic ballast?

You can run most asian & north american bulbs with standard mag ballast. Lot of people run XM bulb and don't forget the new 14K Iwasaki is one of the best 175w bulb out there ( and it also runs on standard mag ballast).

I currently run Coralvue Reeflux 10 K 175 watt halides on my 75 with a magnetic ballast. I have used the Hamilton true 10 K and 14 K before. I learned to stay with 10 K's with 175 watt bulbs as most higher k bulbs have poor PAR #'s. That is until the Iwasaki 14K aqua 2 bulb was released. It will run on a standard Mag ballast but with a bit lower PAR. The Iwasaki bulb on mag ballast has 71 PPFD and on an electronic ballast it has 86 PPFD.

I plan on trying the Iwasaki 14 K bulb on my next bulb change. i have been happy with the Reeflux as well so far.

Get the Iwasaki Aqua2. It is the best 175w bulb out right now IMO. Strong PAR, and great color even on the magnetic ballasts.

Wow the specs on these look really good. Where's a good place to find these?

coralreefecosystems.com and premiumaquatics.com are the only two that I ahve seen carry them so far. I am working with a distributor to get some locally hopfully they will work with me. I know the manager and they are a distributor of eye lighting products. I just hope they can get them for me.
