what are these things on my clam

at night these flea looking things that are all over the rock and sand they might be copods, are under my clams and crawling on them ,seem to be focusing on a part of my clams mantel that was not coming out all the way, I got one of them away from that spot tonight ,any one eles have these flea looking things under and on there clams, and in there tank ,was told they were harmless just seeing if anyone elese has them dtata2@attbi.com

It could be one of a number of bugs. In my system, I have copepods, amphipods, ostracods, mysid shrimp. They are all harmless. You say the mantle is no exapnding in the area they congregate. In this case I would examine to see if they are parasitic snails. Do a search in this forum and you will find plenty of information about the snails and how identify and get rid of them.
