What background for your tank do you prefer? black? blue? nothing?..

me personally.. im not quote sure honestly and i want to know what most people use..

I like black personally. nothing to detract from anything going on in the tank. Seems to be marginally more resistant to coraline as well.

Mine is black but before I did it I contemplated using car window tint. It comes in a few different colors. I saw a tank once with it and it was pretty cool.

I took black and painted the bottom portion of the back pane and arched it up in the middle and painted the top a dark royal blue. Looks like it blends from deeper water to shallower water (kind of :))

Thanks robs.mark. Yes it is our 300 display and I covered the back complete with small chunks of rock, branch and plate. It has given many good place for coral. Is that your Tang in your avatar? Nice Tang! Sorry, FTS?

I painted the back of my 54 corner with black oil paint. It is very resistant to salt, scrapes, etc. I think it highlights the corals and fish.

just painted my tank with krylon fusion black. No water yet but it looks great dry ; ) and sure beats the lfs charging $50 + for the same thing.

i used black window tint for mine... i think if i ever wanted to change it then it would be easier then scraping paint off..
