what bit do i use to drill .125" plexi-glass?

I've always just used standard hole saws for acrylic. Make sure it's sharp, set your drill for fastest speed and use slow steady pressure all the way through the acrylic.

I use a hole saw normally. Not sure if you mean 1" hole or 1" Bulkhead, but dont forget a 1" BH is 1-3/4" typically.

I have not had much success drilling holes in the thin acrylic from HD/menards, it tends to crack. I'd make sure you clamp it down hard.

Therb...Difficult to dill 10 gal tanks, one out of a couple will crack, but there only 8 bucks :) See you only have 8 post...Welcome to RC and the CMAS forum. If you have any questions, just start a new tread, asking you questions in another tread can be construed as hijacking and is shunned by some and loved by other. :) Just a heads up and best of luck....Carl

if your drilling in thiner acrylic/plexiglass/lexan use a porcelion tile bit you can get at HD. Its sorta shaped like an arrowhead. I make a ton a frames for my rockn roll poster collection and I drill alot of holes and using this kind of bit prevents it from cracking.

For Acrylic/Plexi, use a hole saw. I prefer the Milwaukee ones over the HD Ridgid, they cut much better and it's only a few bucks more. You can get the Milwukee at any Sears store.

Also if the bhole saw is too new/sharp to the point where it catches the acrylic, you can run the drill in reverse. The teeth wont grab, but it will still cut through,

(I have drilled many 10 gallon All-Glass tanks. The only ones that gave me any trouble were the cheaper tanks such as Top Fin)
