Yeah that's what I do too for both phosban and rowa...both of them pour out reddish water IME.
I'm using them together now in the same reactor.

Have a question for you guys, why do you all run it? Phosphate issues I take it?

Reason I ask, is I've never had to use it. Did you see any immediate changes? Does anyone else not use this at all? I've moved over my 44 almost 2 years ago and my 180 will be 2 years old in May. I'm wondering if it is worth it to use it but in small doses just to keep phosphates in check even though I don't see any signs.

I dont use any.. I did on my 90 a couple years ago when I had a dictyota problem but it made no difference. my po3 runs .002-.003 on a hannah meter. I think good skimming, rinsing food and 10-15% water changes weekly do the trick

I've never even tested for phosphates. I figure, no algae, why bother. But I guess it is something that might be worthwhile doing.

I'm just worried it might creep up on me down the road. I have over 20 fish. Rather be prepared then having to break stuff down to figure out why later on.
