What do you think of your Jebao pump/wavemakers?

After a few group buys, there are a bunch of these floating around the area so I'm curious... what did you buy? what do you think? would you buy again? would you recommend them to others?

I got the 25 for a 58 gallon mixed tank. its awesome, great flow, i love the random flow option and the wave options. I would certainly buy again and reccomend to others.

I dont think it really compares to the ecotech pumps, its much more comparable to the tunze pumps with a controller, which would cost a ton more.

longevity has yet to be determined on these pumps, but as others have pointed out, jebao is not new to making pumps, they have been making pumps for a very long time for other applications. The only downfall with this pump is customer service in case of a malfuntion, and yes, some pumps WILL have issues, that is the same with ANY product including tunze and ecotechs.

I had a wp40 in my 110 Tall, For the Price i was EXTREMELY Supprised how much flow they had at full blast. Made enough wave to overflow the tank. I would buy one again. Sold it with the tank when in went. Cant say whether it is still working. I now have a Vortech on my Biocube and really like it too.

I am running both the WP 40 and 25.

They move alot of water quietly. Only complaint is that the stream out of the nozzle is very strong and in a tight pattern. I have to bounce the water off the surface or off glass to spread it out.

The WP25 was too much for my 2x2x2 cube regardless of where i mounted it. :(
It is in my frag tank and does a great job of keeping detritus suspended and filtered out.

If they have a decent life span i will remain a fan. So far so good!

Thanks everyone! I'll add my $0.02.

I have a WP-25 in a 2' cube. Boy does it moves a lot of water, I get about a 1-2" standing wave in the tank. If anything I have trouble finding low flow areas.

The wavemaker interface is the only major drawback, imo. There is only one true wavemaker mode (W2). The other wavemaker modes introduce a hum common to over driven DC motors and seem more suited to a product demo than practical application.

I'd buy it again. Like others, I'm skeptical about the long term durability but so far the performance to price ratio is fantastic.

i have a wp-25 on my 72 gallon bow and i took every other power head out of there and it is doing a awesome job at only 75% power too hopefully for the long haul it last but it is doing great so far

I have a 40 and a 25 in my 55 gallon.
Both are being controlled by a Reef Angel and running at about 50% full speed on a simulated Else mode.

I agree with likefish that the flow is to narrow on the 25. The 55 gallon would work better with 1 or 2 25's, but I like the wider flow of the 40 over the 25 that's why I kept it and have it running at a slower speed.

I have a 40 in my 125, I also kept some other PH's as I like a lot of flow in the DT.

I currently on a 180 build, and have already procured a promise for a second, new 40;
so that I'll have 2 of them in my 180.- Plan to remove all other heads at that point from the DT.

I also plan to put the pair of 40's on the back wall, near the side, so my front 3 walls will be clear!

I've been very happy like the others.

I paid $60 for my first 40, and I'm getting the 2nd one for $80- both including shipping.

I have a WP-40 from when they first came out.
One of the first WP-25's to hit the US and they have both been working great.

I have a DC-6000 on order and it is supposed to be here around mid December.
Can't wait to get it.

I would definitely and have recommended them to people.

I picked up 2 new wp40's and a DC12000 for my new 150 tall sps build. I can't wait to get them wet soon and post back. I took a leap of faith and ordered a back up DC12000 in case of an emergency

I also ordered my cousin 2 wp40's and a DC3000 for his return, man I hope you all are right on these pumps lol

EDIT** I ordered 2 wp40's and DC12000, DC3000 from Fish-Street dot com. They sold a 12V to 24V power supply that I picked up for 10 bucks. This way I can cut down the power on the pumps if need be.

I replaced a Mag12 with a DC12000 and I couldn't be happier so far. It's near silent compared to the Mag. I plan on replacing a Quiet One 5000 next.

I am running the DC12000 at 2 and the output is greater than the Mag it replaced. The DC12000 is not so quiet running at full speed. The feedmode is a very useful feature.

The DC12000's input and output are threaded 1-1/2" NMTP. My units have poorly cut or cast threads; PVC from two different manufacturer's wouldn't fit tightly. Maybe they're really metric threads? idk but the PVC was a close enough fit.

Nice
I want one, Couldn't you just load it up with thread tape to make a better seal?

Did you get it in a group buy?
I'm waiting for the next one to purchase mine

I have two wp40 that have been running for 3months. These replaced two tune 6055's. The tunze were a tad small. I like am very happy with them. They are quiet and have not had any issue.

I got The WP20, WP40 and now a Jebao 12000, I only have good things to say about them, but since they are to inexpensive to believe they will last, I have and spare as well, I have them for 5 to 6 months, on the first ones they did.
I think is a great product, I don't think that they can replace a MP40, but you get very similar benefits for a fraction of the price

I love them, have a couple on the 180, they aren't a Ecotech but they are amazing for the money, opens the door for people to get good water flow cheap

Over 5 months now with a WP-25 running in W1 mode for 12 hours a day in my 65. It makes a nice rocking current. I have a traditional 1600 gph wave maker that runs 24/7.
