What fish will do alright in a 55g? Does anyone have a list? I will be upgrading in a couple years and buying young fish if that helps. New tank will be at least 150g.

Lots of choices.
Can't go wrong with a pair of ocellaris clowns. Royal gramma, purple firefish, one of the small peaceful gobies, a flasher wrasse...jawfish are cool provided they have the proper substrate. A dwarf angel would be nice but a gamble in a reef. I'd suggest stocking the tank with fish thatwon't outgrow it, just in case the upgrade doesn't happen. You can always go larger if and when you get the big tank.
