"what fish will eat mushrooms but not SPS?"
- a magic one that you could sell for one million dollars
Seriously though, none that I have ever heard of or tried. IME zoas and some LPS at least will also be toast.
After scraping and cutting the shrooms... basically mangling them as much as possible, THEN cover them with kalk paste/joe's juice/etc.... let sit for at least 20 minutes. Repeat as needed. Worked for me.

Mushrooms are a curse! I will never put another mushroom in my tanks agains. My Regal angel will occasionally nip at my mushrooms but not enough to make any difference. I need to go on a mushroom eradication campaign one of these days.

NEVER again will I put shrooms or polyps in my tanks, there like Xenia. LOL
definitely worth looking into as a means of control.<a href=showthread.php?s=&postid=14393805#post14393805 target=_blank>Originally posted</a> by SDguy
Point is, if you have a tank completely overrun by nutrient rich water loving corals, you may want to consider some husbandry changes in addition to being more conscientious about what corals you place in your tank.

Tom I had the same problem, tank over run with shrooms and polyps. Finally got sick of them and gutted the whole tank. Any rock that had something on it is outside in the rubbermaid now. A bit extreme but it gave me a chance to reaquascape and start new, corals were getting to big anyways.I'm gonna have to go thru the tank again cause there are still straglers ppping up, NEVER again will I put shrooms or polyps in my tanks, there like Xenia. LOL
