What is this algae and how can I get rid of it?!?

turn off the lights for 2-3 days it will kill alot of it off.

The tank has been up for over a a year and a half...and it has been getting worse day after day...

Allot of members on the local site in my area will turn the lights out for 1-3 days monthly or bimonthly.I had it bad and turned the lights off for 2 days and it is 99% gone.It might come back in time but then black out again.

What kind of powerheads do you have? Two maxi-jets would be much different than say two tunzes or koralias.

Micro-Jets (they're at 78 gph). So, between the two of those and my aquaclear, my tank water moves pretty good...

I have to break down the tank if a few weeks for a move - so I am thinking that I will do a FW dip on the rock really fast...maybe that'll help...
