What kind of Clam is this??

Sorry guys ... I'm new to clams and also to reef keeping ... Although I've been in this hobby for over 30 years... Here's a picture of my new clam ... Can anyone tell me what kind it is?? You may not be able to tell but this guy is about 7-8" from end to end.. It's in my 150 gal. with good water flow comming down to it and will be getting 4 hours of MH's and 11 hours of 96W PC lighting per day...

Thanks for the ID..... Your're probably right about the MH period ... The thing is I'm trying to moderate the amount of lighting to control some green hair algea growth and promote some more coraline growth.. I'll probably kick it up to 5 hours in about a week once I've seen how things balance out....

Thanks again.... And by the way, I got this clam from my LFS owners 90 gal. show tank at the store.... he'd had it for almost two years under florecents....I think T-5's and Actinics....

Agreed about the halides. The lighting will not make or break the algae....it would be best to control your phosphates and other types of nutrients.
