Ok, so I am jumping back into the saltwater realm after selling my fish only aquarium and want something smaller and easier on the eyes. I first looked at the jbj nanocube 24g dx but fear the glass break issue. The 24g AP looks nice but im still not sold on it. I would like to research the Oceanic 29g Bio-Cube as i like oceanic's other products and this one looks promising. Anyone got one of these or hear any issues with it? what kind of lighting it has ? (ie. wattage and type) how many chambers in back? I like the looks of it and the price isnt too bad (280.00) any info appreciated. thanks in advance guys!!

go with the nanocube if you can get it at your LFS, they usually crack when the reseller ships them to customers.

I would wait for the bio cube from oceanic. It should be out the begining of june. The JBJs have a lot of leaking problems. The Aquapods are pretty good, but have had recalls on some of their systems, and have been leaking at the top were the glass meets the plastic rim. The Bio Cube is supposed to solve a lot of the problems that the JBJ and Aquapod had, and will only be about $30 more than the JBJ, which isn't bad for an Oceanic!

i really want the oceanic......so i will wait. Any definate release date? I cant find any info online even on the oceanic site.....I was going to go with the JBJ but my LFS only carries the 12g dx and i really want a 24g. Initially I was just going to get a 29g AGA and drill it for overflows and use a sump but the wife ways if i get a SW tank again it has to be all in one with not as much mess.

I just wanted to say I LOVE MY AQUAPOD. After researching I went with the pod due to the current lighting. DR website got it to me cheap with cheap shipping perfect the first time. I would recommend the pod.

i like the pod over the jbj but i dont want the open top so the MH dont matter to me. I really like the look of the quality of the oceanic. Always top notch stuff from them.

how long as ur pod been up? no cracks or anything? and the pod only has 2 chambers in rear correct? any special mods done to it? (second PH thru bulkhead, skimmer, etc.)

I think the 12gal pod has 4 chambers, and the 24gal has 2. My LFS told me that they should have the Bio Cubes in by the middle of June. He also told me that they are not going to carry the JBJs anymore due to customer satisfaciton being very low, and the amount of returns they get on them. But he did say that the 2006 Aquapod is the cats pajamas. After the recalls on the light wiring, and the leaks at the top, he said he hasn't had one returned yet. So there you go. The Aquapod seems to be a lot better than it was last year. He almost had me talked into buying a 12gal. But I think I want to wait for the Bio Cube myself.

Only a few weeks. Is 2 chambers. No modifications. Doing 10% water change weekly and looks great. I am not going to do any mods unless the need presents itself. For now happy as a lark:)

There's a huge difference between the aquapod hood and the nanocube hood though. JBJ has had a lot more time to refine the hoods in the cubes than Current USA. Also, the glass breaking issue is almost non-existant now with the newer 24g's.
