what silicone?

I'm sealing my 75 gallon and I'm thinking about using the 100% sIlIcone from my local hardware store. I have used it for my dart frog tanks without a problem. Has anyone else used something other than "aquarium silicone".

Use the "advanced search" function and search for silicone in this forum. It comes up weekly and there are some very elaborate threads that cover it in depth. In short, Momentive RTV103 or 108 gets reccomended the most.

Are you looking to build a tank or something else structural, or some other project where the strength doesn't matter much? If you want to build something structural nothing at the big box stores is good, and most if not all "aquarium silicone"s are not good.

"100% silicone" means nothing.

I'm resealing my 75 gallon tank. So it will be structural. It has to hold the tank together.

If you are just replacing/resealing the internal bead that runs along all the seams, as opposed to disassembling the panels then it isn't structural I wouldn't think.
