what size pump???

hey everybody. im setting up my first sump/refugium. i have a 33 gallon with a 15 gallon sump.my question is what size pump do i need? ive heard people say 5x per hour and ive heard as much as 10x.what do you think? thanx for any info

for sump--->tank you want anywhere from 3x-5x. Total circulation including powerheads needs to be at least 10x. In your case you could probably go with a Eheim 1250 for a return.

is it pre-drilled? make sure its not rated higher than your overflow can handle.

Id go with a mag5 or 7. Nothing too huge.

For a setup like that, maybe a Mag2, Mag3 at the most. 3 - 5x is 100 - 150 GPH. You dont want a ton of flow through a 15G sump.
