What to put under RIMLESS tank???

So I have read multiple threads and posts of people arguing back and forth about what to put under a rimless tank.

What should I put on the floor?
If you think I should put foam down which foam should I put down?
Should I just put it right onto the hardwood floor and shim it level?
Should I use towels?

What should I put under the tank?
Should I put anything down under the tank on top of the stand itself?



Any and all advice is very much appreciated!!!

between the stand and tank, a 1/4" piece of rigid foam is more than enough. If the stand, sitting on the floor, is not level, then you should use shims (wood or composite - I prefer composite) evenly spaced between stand and floor to make it as close to level as possible. Never - I repeat - NEVER shim between the stand and the tank. You will create pressure points and the tank WILL fail.

Which kind of foam are we talking about?
The kind you can get at lowes?

yup - they sell it in 4x8 sheets. Thick is not necessarily better.

It is really simple, if thee is plastic trim piece on the bottom, no foam, it there is no plastic piece on the bottom then use foam to prevent any point loadi on the bottom pane of glass. 1/4" foam is all that is needed.
