what tunze return for standard 90g aquarium

what return would you recommend for standard 90g set up w herbie overflow system 1703.020, 040, 050

If we go with the average 4ft head pressure, the 1073.020 only does about 250 gallons an hour and would be for tanks under 65 gallons. The 1073.04 would suffice, it does 450 the 1073.050 does 550, the flow drops less for head pressure even though the flow at zero head is comparable.

so got the 1073.05 dc, running at 24v and max speed setting, ok flow, but dont want to run at max all the time, if i were to up size plumbing, have 3/4" hose barb and 3/4" union above pump, to 1" union and get rid of barb, would this help flow/back pressure at all

You could try it, when you use wider piping you will typically gain flow but lose pressure and at lower head you may see a small gain and at higher head a small loss, I don't suspect the difference will be that much.
