I am restocking my 280 and found a gorgeous Naso Tang, as well as a Powder Blue. My tank is currently empty so these will be the first fish back into the tank. I came across them last Sunday, called back on Monday to have them held. I go to pick them up on Thursday and both fish have a light case of ich and are being treated with copper. I did not pick up the fish, but started thinking how will these fish will ever recover in such small(30g)tanks being treated with copper? No veggies, poor light and I am sure not the greatest water quality. I am starting to feel like I should try to save them. My tank is huge, water quality pristine, and I have a large UV. I do not have to worry about the possibility of infecting other fish because I donââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢t have any. It really just boils down to the money, which is no big deal really. What would you do?

This fish are very common so I wouldn't take a chance with them on them and pass. You can always get the same fish later on.

Even if the ich is cured you would still want to quaratine the fish before you place them into your tank. Even though your tank is empty you don't want to introduce ich into it and have to wait until it runs it's cycle out of the tank.

Maybe you could bargin with the store..offer to take them off their hands for a good price;) But you do need to quarentine them before going into your main. You would need to continue treatment although I would switch them to Hyposalinity . If they are of considerable size, 2 in a 55 probabaly would not work . If money's not an issue, buy another 55 qt;)
Whatever you decide, get rid of the ich before they go in your main!!
