Whats the TDS of your local tap water?

yup someone else has pointed this out as well. I feel like a goof for sure.

The TDS meter is inline with my DI canister ... so the In is after 3 stages of RO lol

I'll test the tap with a handheld to see where its at haha. How could I have missed something so obvious

No problem. That's why this forum is here. Many things only seem obvious in retrospect. :)

89ppm suburb of chicago

Funny thing though, it's been 12+ months and my post RO is 0-1 and post DI is 0 and I haven't changed filters.

I bought this used and the previous owner said he made maybe 400g with it.

A shout out for vertex puratek!

That's the advantage of a quality RO membrane. I have similar TDS and with a 98% rejection membrane my DI is typically processing 0-1ppm water. It lasts a very long time.

300-400 in the Central Coast of California. It's very variable here as we buy water from other sources.

Reading these posts makes me feel better. My handheld TDS meter says 10 straight out of the tap here in Boulder, Colorado.

I have an update as well.

TDS out of tap here is 76.9

It fluctuates between 60-80 according to the cities water treatment reports. Target being <500

I've noticed some other levels that strike me as an issue.

Levels of nitrate, phosphate, and copper out of the tap. I'm hoping the RODI takes care of this stuff as well.

SF bay area.. Pacifica has 150-180 PPM depending on the time of year. I have a 6stage EBay water general and couldn't be happier. After 8 mos still have 0 after DI. Have filters waiting to go in. ;-)

Water Quality in Pepperell, MA

Water Quality in Pepperell, MA

My TDS is 220 coming out of my well, 2.0 coming out of the RO unit and 0.0 after ion exchange. I backflush the membrane once a week.

350 ppm out of our well here in south central Wisconsin. It's an agricultural area, so it's high in nitrate and phosphate. The high iron content is an added bonus.

RO/DI is an absolute must. We use RO for drinking and cooking.

200 to 300 seasonally, I live in rural Rocky Mnts close to Banff . What sucks is we have 350-450 calcium right out of the tap and my r/o rejects it all. I never had to add any CA until I started filtering our house water but I had high phos and silicate I had to get rid of.

575+. Oh well, I'm in the middle of a desert, so I guess I should be happy to have any water at all. Luckily SpectraPure is based in the Phoenix area and their 5-stage MaxCap RO/DI system makes quick work of all the dissolved solids.
