Whats the TDS of your local tap water?

Just curious what everyone has for tapwater.

I always knew Thompson had good water. We're a mining town and the mine owns the treatment plant. They need pure water because of their instruments, and it wasn't cost effective to build a second plant so we get the same water as them in our homes.

I think I wasted money on my RO unit a few months ago. Hopefully its pulling out stuff that isn't measured by a TDS meter.

Mine is .001 going into the unit and .000 coming out of the unit.

I suppose at least I won't be buying filters all that often lol.

Oh I also have the Bulk Reef Supply 5 Stage Plus system.

Greater Atlanta, Georgia is 38-41. RO membranes and DI resin last about forever around here. FW fish like Discus breed in straight tap water (dechlorinated of course!).

Mine is around 230, I find that if I use my RO unit after I water the lawn I can get it down to about 170... All I really care about is getting 000 after the DI... :-)

Do you mean you have 1 ppm TDS in your tap water? I think there may be an error in your testing as I think that is pretty unlikely. Maybe 1 ppm TDS after the RO, however. :)

I just finished hooking up my new RODI unit.

Florence, KY (Cincinnati water works)

My handheld TDS meter reads 185 from the faucet. The spectrapure meter reads 5 for the input, which might be after the first stage, unclear on that.

Central NJ here... It averages 78, but our town pipes suck (iron everywhere) so the first stage of my rodi gets changed every other month.

I'm also in the north Atlanta area and read 43-45ppm consistently. More importantly, 0.0 coming out of the RO/DI unit.

yup someone else has pointed this out as well. I feel like a goof for sure.

The TDS meter is inline with my DI canister ... so the In is after 3 stages of RO lol

I'll test the tap with a handheld to see where its at haha. How could I have missed something so obvious

89ppm suburb of chicago

Funny thing though, it's been 12+ months and my post RO is 0-1 and post DI is 0 and I haven't changed filters.

I bought this used and the previous owner said he made maybe 400g with it.

A shout out for vertex puratek!
