What's Wrong w/ This Crocea Clam

if your talking about the hole that you can see through the in current syphon, thats part of the byssal opening, it normal and all clams have it they just hold it shut most of the time and you cant see it

I'm talking about the hole on the right side of the pic. The large hole. There's two holes on it, one small one on the left and a larger one on the right.

Also, why do some people recommend putting them on a rock instead of sand?

the large hole is the in current syphon. thats where the water flows in and then gos over the gills and then out the ex current (tube part). in the wild Croceas are found on the reef (rocks) thats why people say to place it there.

Thanks. I'll go ahead and place it on a piece of rock. Is it best to have it facing directly to the lights or maybe at some angle or on its side?
