whens lights went on today i noticed a swarm of tiny little white things????

when the acitinic lights went on about 20 mins ago there is a swarm of little white things-almost like knats-swimming around near the surface of the tank-but isolated to an area and i see a couple of fish eating them

now i do have a couple a peppermint shrimp in the tank that was part of the reef cleaning package-are these offspring maybe-it almost looks like live plankton being eaten-

it looks like something gave birth overnight-because they werent there when the lights went out last night

Most likely larvae, but can't tell without picture. How big are they?

It happens in our tank pretty frequently. I look in the tank at night once in awhile and see the tank just loaded with little larvae swimming around and even sometimes when the actinic kicks on. My son called me one night and our shrimp was spewing out some spawn and we attributed it to this. It almost looked like it was shoveling them off its body with its front feelers/legs when it did it.
