I am new to this forum. I have a saltwater tank, and i would like to get a mantis shrimp. Is there any reputable on line stores, that sell them? I've searched and searched and can't find a online store that sells them.
I bought a nice one from Inland Aquatics http://www.inlandaquatics.com/ about two years ago. They are not listed on their web page so you may have to call and ask.
Since you're posting here this is more than likely a moot point. But make sure you do your research before getting a mantis. Form what I've read generally you can consider any[no-coral] thing you put in the tank as a food source for the mantis. [Some species may be less aggressive than others I haven't seen any threads on it though].
Since you probably already knew that, good luck with your mantis hunting.
Incidentally another way to get a mantis is to watch this forum, there are always people getting them as hitch-hikers on there LR. If you don't care about what species you get you can often get them for the price of shipping[or free if you happen to be fortunate enough to live within driving distance of the guy trying to get rid of it.
