Where To Drill, again

Well, I’ve done it again. I’ve inherited another free tank. This one is a 70g acrylic half circle with a homemade stand. The tank is custom too but I didn’t make it. My purpose for wanting a sump is mainly to hide all of my equipment in. also the back of the tank is a little weird so I don’t think any overflow boxes would be a good idea which leaves the question:

“Where to drill?”

The back?

Or the bottom?

I’ve had good luck with both orientations on “traditional” glass rectangular tanks but I’ve never worked with acrylic or a half circle.

Any suggestions?
