Where to find supplies to tube feed a 2" fish?

I have a fish that isn't eating as far as I can tell. I'd like to try and tube feed it if possible. I have syringes. But clueless on where to find a small diameter tube to use.

I get my clear tubing that I've used to spot feed some fish from discount auto parts they have every size tubing you can imagine

House of fins has a bucket in the back with that hard tubing. I once glued a 1/4" tube to a syringe to kill some aiptasia. Should work out the same way.

btw sent you a pm.

2" fish? I'll scout around the labs tomorrow and see if I can find something. No guarantees of finding small enough tubing that I take some of, but worth a look. For a fish that small, likely to be worth sedating with MS-222 or clove oil. Will minimize the stress on the fish, plus minimize the likelihood of doing damage in the process from it not sitting still.

Seahorse source has a syringe and cannula that will work to tube feed a fish that small. you can order from them online. Would sedate for sure like stated above.

Thanks Guys! This guy is a small fish. I don't think 1/4" od tube would even fit in its mouth. Bill I was thinking about sedating the fish. I've worked with ms-222 many years ago while working at the rsmas fish hatchery. Is clove oil any safer or easier to use?

Clove oil isn't any easier or safer to use for fish. Might be somewhat less effective. It is substantially cheaper and easier to source, which is the primary reason it gets used. On the human safety side, no powder to be careful of when you mix your solution.

can you post up pictures (if possible) how your gonna do this im curious to know and if anyone knows a survival rate for tube feeding fish id love to read about your experiences.

Yeah you should. I know someone who would take them off your hands if you decide to. You know, just looking out for you. Trying to relieve you of some headaches. Lol.

Thanks John, lol

For those following along. I finally have all the supplies needed. Yesterday the fish was not to be seen and I started to think it was too late.

This morning I saw the fish toward the center of the tank. I'll try to catch it when I get home.

The only thing I am missing is food. I figured I would mix some flakes and water into a paste. Wish me luck.

FYI, clove oil can be found at your local GNC.
