where to get cuelerpa or other macros

I want to add some macro algea to my refugium. Do any of the local LFS sell this stuff? I kind of like the mexican cuelerpa. I think it looks pretty cool. I know I can order some on ebay for about $18 shipped.

yeah dave wouldnt have a problem with the caulerpa. He has a yellow tang and coral beauty. My tangs and coral beauty control that to the point you never see it in the main tank.

I had caulerpa and cheato in my fuge. I recently removed the caulerpa and just have tons of cheato in there and it seems much cleaner. With the caulerpa I found that pruning it would always cause at least some small portion of the remaining plants to die off which just made a mess. Also, caulerpa anchors itself in the sand and makes it harder to control. Pulling it out causes sandstorms, etc. So although I had caulerpa for a while and it grew like mad, I am much happier now with the cheato and no caulerpa.

Sea in the City usually has some cheato and maybe some other good macros that you can get for a low price.

Caulerpa is just bad news, i tried 3 different tangs, and now finally a fox face to get rid of it in my main tank, it just doesnt happen. its a pita. stick w/ cheato.

Marcye sells the red grape caulerpa. Really cool. I had caulerpa growing like wild fire, but I put a mimic tang in there and at first even he couldn't handle it. I did one good cleanup and since then, and caulerpa growing is quickly eaten by the tang. A half hour of tugging out algae and a tang are the two best solutions I know of. Some types of snail, nudis, limpets, hermits, etc can always take care of a little algae problem.

I ordered some from Moggyhill for a great price. I got the mexican kind. Plus supposedly its full of pods. Should be here today. I hope it grows like crazy. I dont mind cleaning it up and maybe selling or giving it away to other people. Plus my yellow tang should love it.

Thanks Moggyhill. I didnt expect to get so much. :) I am going to give some to my friend for his refugium. Reef Central is a great place.
