Where's the cheapest place to get Tropic Marin salt?

Does anyone know where's the cheapest place to get Tropic Marin locally? I called Coral Oasis and it's $100 for a 300 gallon box and $90 for 200 gallons at Tong's.

Its $69.99 at Jeff's exotic fish. I get mines when they have their 25% dry goods sale, which they just had this weekend. Then you get a bucket for below $60!!!

But they seem to have a sale like this one week a month anyways. I only go to the Orange location.

Frank at Tropical Reef Oasis (in Alhambra) will price match Marine Depot if you are closer to him.

The $69.99 at Jeff's is that 300 gallons? If Frank price matches, he seems like the best bet, since he is closer to me.

The $69.99 is for 200 gallons.

I know that Seaside in Huntington beach sells the 300 gallon sacks for $79.99. However, I never bought it from there. The sack appeared to be filled with large salt crystals, not powder.
So I didn't buy. I didn't want to take the risk.
Has anyone try these?

Marine depot.. 200 gallon mix for $59.99 cant beat that!!!

Yeah that's a good price! What type of salt are you using Gabriel? I have to search to see which one to go with. normal or pro reef. I'm using IO right now, but since I just ran out of it, I'm looking to try something different.

Damn, that is hella cheap. But it still doesn't beat Jeff's sale when its 25% off though. :)

my bucket was the regular Tropic Marin.
If its $49.99 for the regular at Marine Depot, then that is the best price.

i use 2 salts.. i use seachem reef and oceanpure(marine depot does not carry the PRO so i havent tried it yet... i have had no problems changing between the 2 salts... i do a 25 gallon water change every 5 days and all the corals in my tank are taking off.. great growth.. i would just run seachem reef but it costs too much..

Both Eric (Central Aquarium/Fragfarmer) and Anthony (Passion of the Sea) carry the Pro version of Ocean Pure. I know previously one of these guys (or both) were running a special on buckets. Also check with Frank (Tropoasis) if Alhambra is closer to you. I think he was carrying Seachem.

I recently switched from IO to SeaChem Reef for the reef tank and SeaChem Marine for the baby fish tanks. IO has a long and safe history with fish hatcheries, which SeaChem does not really, but I experienced no issues switching, even with week-old larvae.

The CA and Alk levels in the SeaChem reef salt are also closer to optimal than IO. Using SeaChem I no longer have to buffer the RO water before mixing to get a good pH level, like I did with IO. For that reason -- and because I can will-call at Marine Depot -- I'll be staying with SeaChem for the time being.

Thanks for the info. Does anyone have a link to the test result Old Yeller got awhile back with the different salt brands?

Thanks for the tips, I've been a marine depot customer since I started my tank and never knew they had will call! Usually the shipping is reasonable and fast but for heavy items will call rocks!
