Which carbon brand do you use in your sps tanks?

Was uesing BRS large lignite, made the switch to the ROX 0.8. I must say I realy like the ROX much better, it is a little harder to use in my reactor as the size of it is much smaller in size. If you have the extra $ give the ROX a try.

I am thinking about running the BRS Rox in my system. How much carbon do you use in your system, and how often do you change it. TIA.

For most of you, do you guys just put the carbon in a filter bag or in the reactor? I don't have the money for the reactor now, so i am wondering will i get the full benefit by using carbon in a filter bag.

I have a pvc tube with end caps that the carbon and phosban is placed in. The media is in a standard media bag with polyester backing material as a pre and post filter of this media bag. One cap has mulitple holes drilled for the exit and the other has a threaded coupler glued to it. A John Guest fitting is threaded into the threaded coupler and placed on a MJ900. This system is easily constructed for less than $5 and has served it's purpose well for several years. The only problem is the lack of heavy flow results in some detritus build-up in the pvc chamber.

I use the ROX also. Some of my corals actually improved color after I started running it. I guess from making the water that much more clear they got more light. But I am not really sure of the reason why.

I would have to say I seen the same results. It hasn't been a drastic change, but sertainly can notice a difference.
I am running mine thru 2 TLF phosban reactors daisy chained together,1 GFO, and 1 carbon

BRS ROX for me it polishes my water crystal clear. I run it in a BRS dual chamber reactor powered by a MJ1200 3/4 cups works fine for my 75 gallon set up.:wavehand:

BRS ROX 0.8 for me. I 3/4 cups in the BRS dual chamber reactor powered by a MJ 1200, with the first chamber being filled with phos remover.
