Which Clam?

I'm researching trying to decide which would be the best clam to start with. The tank I'm going to put it in is a 50 gallon cube (24" x 24" x 24") with a 400W 10K and 2 40W 50/50 lights. The tank has been setup for about 9-10 months with a couple of SPS corals in it right now. I'm looking for suggestions about which type of clam as well as size to start with. I don't know if it would be better to start with a baby that you will need to feed or buy a bigger one to start with. The baby would be nice because you could watch it grow. BTW I ordered Knop's book but it hasn't arrived yet.

Thanks. :)

With the 400 watt MH, you an put any kind of clam in there. Be sure to acclimate it to your lights.

Babies would be find but I feed my babies, some don't as they are filter feeders but I want to make sure they get enough food.

I like to watch them grow but I have 11 in my 180 and the smallest one it 1 1/2" and the largest one it 6 1/2"

You will like Daniel book, I refer to it all the time. Good reading.

Thanks,

That's what I thought. Jim, I'll probably give you a call in about a month when I get ready to purchase a clam. Right now I'm real busy, and I want to make sure I have time to take care of it when I get one.
